cell phone early termination fee and LNP

I am looking to get rid of my existing cell phone. I originally wanted to port the existing cell number to a virtual number on my vonage line. Since it seems that this isn't possible (ANYONE?!?), my only option is to port it to a second line on the same PAP2. I will then always forward that new line to another number.

The problem is that my sprint agreement still has 1 year left, so I will have to pay an early termination fee. What's the procedure for porting that number over? Should I start the LNP process first and then sprint will bill me?

Also, with two lines going to the same PAP2, does that mean I have to use the "phone 2" jack? Or once I set the forwarding up on the second line can I just forget about it?

Thanks in advance! And if anyone knows how to work the system to get a number ported to a virtual number let me know!

yes you can go ahead and give vonage the information on the number and a recent up to date within 30days bill from sprint then they can start the porting of your number. Be prepared it takes some time too.
mine took 23 days. On a cingular one one took 12 days and on a At&T line my friends took 2 months.
Make sure your line is valid while they port over the number or they cant do it.
also you'll need to sign a portability agreement form on thier site and fax that with a bill to them

How does it work having two lines with one adapter? Does each vonage line use a single port on the PAP2 or are they multiplexed in some way? Basically, I will be forwarding the second number directly to my new cell phone (don't ask), so I will never need an actual phone connected to that line.
