suxem - don't believe what you posted is true. Until I retuned to Mazatlan on Tues from a short trip to Manzanillo, Vonage worked fine. Now it doesn't. Reading the various message boards in Mazatlan, there are many of us with no service outbound. I have done numerous tests and my upload speed is fine but when I check packet loss on upload I get a 73% loss, download is minimal. We have a problem down here and are looking for some kind of help. |

my connection works and my friends with higher speed connections are also receiving normal service. So, that implies that the problem is not port blocking but general service level. If you have a lower speed connection, it will not reliably support service. |

But I believe prod-infinitum.com.mx is.[/quote]
Dan:
Why would the service work sometimes and not at others if they are port blocking?
Specially the service works during light traffic periods; if they were blocking ports it would not work all the time period |

Not true! I have two acquaintances that have 1meg connection from Telmex in Mazatlan and they are both having the same problems described at the start of this thread |

The info that has been sent to me suggests port blocking. Nothing says the ISP has to block 24/7, they could be selective.
I would really like to see some test results from you and others on our speed test and the ones found at some other test sites. Can you also post ping plotter results?
You should all put your ISP in your signatures. |

Look at their web site, they are offering service in Mexico City, so being in Mexico for part of the time should bot be a problem |

Wrong, Vonage does not offer service in Mexico City. Vonage offers USA customers a Mexico City virtual number. |

Have you all checked your IPS's TOS lately?
Could they have instituted a Fair Access Policy much like DirecWay has here: http://fairaccess.direcway.com/ |
