Hello, I sent the following message to Customer Care on 3/1/05:
"I have installed one phone adapter successfully directly thru my Linksys Wireless Router, with a PC attached. I am now attempting to attach a second phone adapter directly thru the router (as described in the documentation for multiple adapters), no PC attached. The same generic type phone is attached to both adapters. I have a green light on Power and Internet but no dial tone. I want to know also if I can attach a third adapter thru a Linksys switch. I have in my network the Wireless Router, a switch, two hubs, and now one (possibly two) phone adapter(s). In our situation, I need the same phone in three locations, one of which is in a separate building (currently working). Or, can you link the two phone ports on one phone adapter to the same number? I could then run a phone cable to the third location from the second, which is in the same building. Our phone number is not yet transferred, so I have time to resolve these issues."

I received an auto-response to which I replied so a ticket would be created.

On 3/5/05 I attempted to send a second message to installations@Vonage.com but received it BACK into my mailbox with my own email as the sender Exclamation I then used the online version and received a second reference number.

The second message was: "I have been doing some research on my multiple adapter issue. I believe the problem is related to the MAC addresses. The one that is working was received directly from Vonage and the MAC address is listed on the paperwork. Therefore that phone number must be linked to that particular MAC address (which is how most communication in networking functions).

So, it follows that the second adapter won't work because the MAC address is not associated with my account/phone number.

There must be settings allowing more than one MAC address linking to an account or single phone number as you have documentation for multiple adapters.

I look forward to hearing from your tech support. A help ticket should have been opened when I replied on 3/1/05 to the original automated response." NOTE: I have not yet tried to call them directly but that will be on my agenda soon, if they don't contact me first.

According to my account info, the transfer request was sent to my current carrier on 2/22/05. I hope I don't have the problems I read about in other parts of this forum Confused
