Well, I just filed a complaint with the FCC. Primarily against Paetec, but I did have to include
Vonage
in this, as they are not totally innocent here.
We're down to 14 days until I move. I am expecting now that I will be going back to POTS when I move unfortunately. Maybe I'll try again in the future, once I see that
Vonage
and/or their third-party associates get their acts together.
Here's crossing the fingers and hoping it goes through.

well, if you dont want to take any chances... you can cancel the transfer request.....and preserve your number with your local company.......because possibly later this year, they are going to implement a new transfer system where there is no middle man. and the tranfer happens within hours. It'll all be automated. To bad they havent really given a date as to when.

I have not checked into that yet, but I am moving to a neighboring county from where I am now, so I am not guessing that my number will be portable via POTS. I'll be calling to check on that very soon. If so, I may just do exactly that and cancel
Vonage
now and wait until the LNP is more reliable.
But if they get this done inside of 14 days from today, this is all moot.

well, just one more suggestion...dont wait untli the 14th day to take back the transfer request....because that too will need couple days to finish up...probably on the 10th day, cancel your transfer request with
Vonage
, after that's completed, then you can call your local phone company up and request a move... this way things will go smoothly..............

In what I am sure is a total coincidence, I just got my schedule date. April 7th. And my dashboard has been updated as well.
So we'll see how this goes. But I sure am glad it's on the move now.

Congratulations!
First, just for the record: It's "
A
MINIMUM
OF 20 BUSINESS DAYS
" (~1 month) not 20 DAYS and it begins when all paperwork is successfully received and sent to the carrier.

Probably for the 12th time in the last week: The "tentative date" that is given out is a totally meaningless date and shouldn't even be given out to customers as it just makes people more angry. It is a date created by
Vonage
the day the port is accepted and put in it's spreadsheets as a "target" date and is in no way based on any information from anything other then
Vonage
as to when it "should" happen. While it might or might not happen during that time, it has absolutely nothing to do with that date. People who started their ports on Jan 1st probably still have a "tentative date" of Jan 31 even though it's April. Every time I hear a customer say "the last rep gave me a "tentative" (AKA Pending) date of (whatever)" it makes me shudder.
Vonage
doesn't know when the ports will complete until just a couple days before it happens.
I'm glad it all worked out for you.
P.S. Had a guy today whose port completed in TEN CALENDAR days. Go figure. I almost wet my panties when I saw it.

Update:
Called
Vonage
LNP again. After waiting for 30 minutes on hold, I talked to a CSR named Les. Briefly explained my situation (that I am moving, today was day 20 and confirmed no LNP was going to happen in their 20-day window), and after a few moments of silence, he very quickly rattles off that I am scheduled for the port on the 17th at 10am.
I only state the last part because he literally was mumbling the LNP date to me 3 times until I finally told him I need him to speak clearly that I cannot understand him. He didn't mumble anything else prior to that, so he almost sounded like he was trying to hide something!
Anyways, we'll see what happens on the 20th.
