Has anyone else had this problem. Throughout a 10-20 minute phone call, the person who has called me asks, "what is that beeping?" When asked to describe it, they comment, "it sounds like every so often you're hitting a button on the phone that makes a beeping noise, like a touch tone almost".
It's not me, since my phone just sits there, and I'm not moving.
Anyone else with the problem now or in the past? |

For the first time ever somebody just asked me the same question: what's that beeping? I'm calling support now.

I just had the beeping on an incoming call again just now. Randy and I have emailed each other and can find absolutely no common denominator for us to have this.
It's only on INCOMING calls.
Are we really the only two people in the world experiencing this? |

Yep...same thing here (Raleigh area of NC). I notice it when I call my home from my cellphone. I mention the cellphone because when I call to my house from work, 95% of the time it's on my cellphone. Tonight I noticed maybe 5 or 6 beeps during a 15 minute conversation. And yes, sounds like someone at home (Vonage end of things) keeps hitting the phone's keypad.

Man, I hate that for you -- even if misery does love company. Troy at Vonage finally said we needed to try replacing the ATA. It came today. In the meantime, we moved the cable modem back downstairs, the netgear router too and the ATA. We don't even have the ATA plugged into the house wiring -- just the cordless base. Haven't figured out how to get the fax machine plugged in from here to there yet! We're going to start VERY slowly and add variables and see what triggers the beeping, if anything.

Welcome Uncle Flyod. Hopefully Vonage will start to see this as a real problem. I can't tell you how many people ask, "What's that beeping? Are you taping this call or something?"
Be sure when you call support, you mention Troy N. He's the support rep who knows what is going on with Laurel and myself.
Good luck.. Randy |

Just got off the phone from placing a call to our Vonage line at home. For the first time ever I, too, experienced the beeping every few minutes. At first I thought my wife was inadvertently pressing a button on the phone, but she wasn't. I live west of Chicago. |

Are you using the 50k codec? That was the problem for me. |

how do you know what codec you're using? Is that the band saver? If so, I've used them both. Now Troy at Vonage has a debug on the line. Darn it, we had two calls with beeping yesterday and there was something wrong wit the recording on the debug. It's fixed now so we will just await beeping and report to Troy and see what the debug says.
