Three months and counting on my number transfer. Vonage has cancelled my bill each month of the procedure, but I'm still paying for my Verizon phone (the phone Vonage was intended to replace). I called again yesterday (have been calling every week since March) and finally talked to someone in a higher up position then the normal customer service smurfs. He said if I don't hear anything on an exact date of transfer within the next 2hours to 2 days, he's going to go over to the LNP dept. and personally drop kick them.
It s*u*c*k*s because I'm doing some of the "refer a friend" to get two months free, but because they haven't transfered my number yet, Vonage IS free right now. So I have to make sure they put a hold on my refer a friend credit until after the NT has gone through. Anyone waited longer than me? |

4 Months and counting (SBC)... When I made the call today, the rep said original LNP request got cancelled. It took them 4 months to get that response. During the 4 months I sent atleast 10 mails and called 10 times. The rep said they would contact their 3rd party carrier (XO) again for the reason for the cancellation.. |

When I got the email for the "online LOA reminder" on the day I started the process, there was an option to call directly to the 3rd party verification rather than fax/etc, and I spoke directly to a rep who (with a recorded phone call as legal backup) took all the info and completed the LOA in a few minutes. Here's history from my dashboard May 11, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization May 11, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received May 12, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier May 20, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer May 23, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
PS, 911 activation happened literally overnight too! Goes to county sherriff's office (24 hour dispatch) rather than the traditional 911 dispatch center in my town. I can live with that. |

I voted no.
I had SBC, ordered Vonage on May 5th, finished the port last Thursday, the 19th.
Been happy with it ever since. |
