That's the Sveasoft.com subscription firmware running on the WRT54G[S] router. It adds QoS capabilities and extends your wireless range of the router. Many other features but the biggest is the ability to do bandwidth shaping and keep your voice traffic flowing smoothly. |

I am running the same software on my Linksys. I tried the Voip Test. The amount of Voip phones was 2 for the Qos enabled and 4 when disabled. Here look.
With Qos Enabled. My Results Download 1,581,568 bps Upload 213,896 bps QOS 71% RTT 79 ms MaxPause 100 ms
With Qos Disabled My Results Download 1,664,904 bps Upload 334,760 bps QOS 69% RTT 69 ms MaxPause 80 ms |

What you have shown does not really say anything to me. The only time it comes into play is when you have competition amongst applications asking for bandwidth.
Set NNTP as bulk and your adapter as Premium. Start a nice size upload and then make a phone call with QOS enabled and then disabled.
You should notice a big difference. |

Toddler, the [ADMIN EDIT] link is bootleg software. Those of us who actually pay the $20 subscription to Sveasoft to insure we get input and support are very pleased with Sveasoft. I don't think it is ethical to steal the software and post on a mirror site.
I cetainly don't think its appropriate to post it in a forum. The issue of GPL and Sveasoft will wind up in court, I'm sure, but I believe Sveasoft is in the right. |

Hey, if that second link was bootleg I wasn't aware of it. The links were from Anandtech which is a very legit site and is always cautious about those kinds of things, so I didn't bother to question it. But from reading through things over at Anandtech again, it looks like anything released under the GNU Public License is supposed to be free, right? I thought GPL specifically stated that programs may be freely distributed under the license.
Anyway I was just trying to be helpful. If I spent $20 for beta software I'd be touchy, too. I don't own the hardware it's made for, so I don't use the Sveasoft stuff...pardon my ignorance. |

I do not doubt that you thought the code/link was "ok". I also have a lot of respect for Anandtech and what goes on there.
However, if you read down deep in that link, at the conversation in the emails, you might see the issue.
I personally want very little to do with the argument (all GNU issues aside), hence the removal of the name and the link. |
