I dial *123 and enter my pin and #. Then the pleasant sounding woman says "Sorry, but those numbers do not match what is in this system." I will try a couple of times and finally it works. However, this is a pain in the arse to go through every time I want to check my voice mail. Anybody else experience this? Is there a way to remedy the situation?
I was talking with tech support earlier and we tried a different phone and a different phone cord and the second port on the ATA and to no avail. I have no trouble entering tones on other systems, for example, when i called tech support, the tones worked fine to get to talk to a tech. Similarly, I can call my bank and enter long account number with no problem.
My connection is A.O.K. I run speed tests all the time averaging 2700/360. My line quality test is clean. And my latency is low ~20ms on east coast. Also I have no problems entering tones to my bank or Vonage's tech support line or anywhere else for that matter. So I think it is a Vonage Voice Mail problem related to their Iperia Boxes.
I am currently using the regular codec.
With tech support last night we tried other codecs with no improvement.
Remember this is only an issue with Vonage VM, my line is clean and call quality is excellent, I can enter DTMF tones into ANY other automated system (e.g. my bank, Vonage tech support line, moviefone, and many others) with NO problem. Therefore, I have to believe the problem lies with the Iberia VM system Vonage is using.
Please help! |

I experience the opposite. No problem to access my Vonage voice mail, but I can't enter DTMF tones to other automated systems like my bank or my ISP. Pleasant sounding women (at my bank and ISP) continue speaking, not being disturbed by the fact I pressed 2 or 3 or any other digit.
Your solution will be mine because the "opposite" is nothing else than the "same".
