Here's my problem, at random times when someone calls me they can't hear anything I'm saying even though I can hear them just fine. But as soon as they call back everything is just fine. This just started last week and has been happening more often. I haven't made any changes to my set up and can't figure out what could be causing this. I've tried using a different phone but it still happens. I have both lines activated but seems to happen mostly on line 1. Haven't really noticed it on line 2 (yet). This even occurs when none of the PC are on.

My set up is as follows:
RR(SE WISCONSIN) 5M down / 385k up

RT31P2--Phone line 1 (firmware 1.27)

Are there any changes I could make to help with this or is this something a Vonage tech would have to take care of? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think we're finding out that the RT31P2 does not put out 48 volts DC on the phone side. Some phones run on line power and that might be an issue. If you've got an old fashioned phone around, you might give it a try.

On the other hand, it might just be a bad RT31P2. I'd try an old fashioned phone first and then try the long hold time for Vonage CS.

Have Vonage increase your output power/voltage. This solved all the problems I had with sounding faint at times and also fixed my phone that was not ringing properly.

It's the rt31p2, I've noticed that several other people I know who have the same config I do have that problem as well, and my phone doesn't run on line power Wink

IMHO the rt31p2 is a piece of junk.. I'm going to try and get something else, if anything.. non linksys!
