The phone lights on the rt31p2 suddenly do not work. I have been without a phone for 2 days.

I tried to get tech help from the web site http://www.vonage.com/help_contactUsForm.php, and it has been hung up for four plus hours.

This is the SECOND rt31p2 I have had, and have had a series of problems with the other modems that Vonage sent.

Perhaps this is the wrong forum for expressing my legitimate indignation, but it is the ONLY way I can get attention.

Since the problem is not caused by non payment, or me fiddling with things, only two things will satisfy me now:

1) IMMEDIATE OVERNIGHT (not having it go through 6 people first) of a new NO CHARGE router.

2) COMPLETE REFUND on this month's bill

There are other VOIPs out there, and my Time Warner cable has NEVER been out. As you may gess, I am quite dissatisfied with Vonage at present.

I can get you a new one no charge overnight, but I cannot give you a month free, and even if you go to management they will not give you a month either. The most you will get is the 4-5 days you are without service.

Your device can probably be fixed anyway, PM me your account number and I will look into it, or send you out a new one.

When I asked for overnight, I meant it.

Twice previously I had been promised by someone that they would overnight the router. The device came 4-5 days later.

At that rate, it will be without a phone for one week. THAT IS CLEARLY UNACCEPTABLE.

The problems that I experienced with Vonage leave a bad taste in my mouth. The forum tells me I am not the only one who has that same, bad taste that comes from Vonage.

Please PM me who is able to regain an extremely and justifiably disgruntled customer's trust by acting in a responsible manner.

I had problem with phone light out on rt31p2. I turned off everything (modem, Vonage, router) turned off PC and left off for about 10 mins. I then turned everything on. Phone light was back on! I don't know if this would fix your problem. We've had Vonage for about 2 1/2 months and had to do this once.

yes.several times. This included overnight power disconnection.

The only time the phone lights lit up was upon boot up after disconnect or reset.

The units are pieces of crap that get recycled, but not repaired. I know this because I allegedly got a new one to replace my current RT31P2 router. It had scratches on it, and was DOA.

Not necessarily true. My RT31P2 unit was brand new and has worked wonderfully from the day I plugged it in. I would wager the vast majority of Vonage's 500,000 subscribers feel the same as me, but unfortunately you are one of the few who are experiencing problems and have come here seeking help.

Your haughty and misanthropic speech really keeps people away, though. You've spoken very unkindly to jdr, who is a Vonage rep who works these boards on a volunteer basis (as i understand it) and does not get paid to help you. The copies of the PM's you have sent him seem to me to be extremely rude. If I were him, I wouldn't be so accepting...

I understand the trials you have been through, and I hope you can get the service working for you. I also hope you can find enough common decency to treat the people here who are going out of their way to help you a bit more respectfully.

Mine was mint and set up was flawless. So far so good. I'm glad I switched to Vonage. I wish I could have kept my old number but I'm too rural for that yet. Oh well. VOIP'n and loving it.
