Yea, Spokane is in WA, 300 miles to the east of Seattle. We've had Vonage for over a year & lived in Seattle at the time. We kept that number when we moved & just added on a Spokane virtual number for $5. So to this day whenever we call anyone, the caller ID shows up with a Seattle phone number. So US Bank either doesn't use this security method or they kept the old number on file & it came thru correctly.

No clue why it worked (or why it wouldn't). I'd call the bank & complain because there are probably a number of reasons why this kind of system would fail, ie; caller ID blocking.

Now that I think about it, I had to enable a Paypal MasterCard a couple of months ago & I don't recall having any problems.

again, this isn't a caller id issue. block it all day long, the ani is what matters and it's what 800 numbers get and verify.

spokane and seattle are both washington aren't they? what do you mean by moving east? is this a different number than you signed up for the card with?
and does US Bank have a number verification system? maybe not all companies employ this security method.

I've registered a few new cards with US Bank (and other banks) while living in MN and now IN without a problem

Just a side note:

I work with Multiple T-1's in a call monitoring/recording system at work.
When I test from my Vonage line, or Softfone the device recieves my CID and/or ANI. They all show as correct.

But our systems also request DTMF (Touchtones) for certain functions. These functions sometimes fail.

My workaround was to prefix every 1-800 # with #99 (disable bandwidth saver or use highest codec) When I do this my calls work fine to our devices.

I have DishNetwork and dial their 1-800 number for ordering pay-per-view.

The automated attendent verifies my account by the telephone number I dial from.
It asks if the last 4 digits of my phone number are xxxx.

When using Vonage, the numbers are incorrect.

Would be nice if Vonage would fix it. This is the only "bug" I have had with my service.

This is exactly the problem I'm having -

Some of the 800 number I call (i tried activating a card the other day) get (as the CS reps claim) some 973 nubmer. I had to go thru a painful verification process since the number is not even in my state...

It used to work, I think...

I tried calling Vonage CS but after waiting on hold for 15 minutes gave up...

what the heck, there's got to be a way around this!

any Vonage reps here?

Same problem here a few months back with C/C activation. I just called the non-800 customer service number, spoke with a CSR and got the card activated with no problems.

Free call either way, so...

I tried to confirm my PayPal location, and I got the call, and put in my code, then I got a msg on the paypal screen saying they couldnt' find my name listed with my phone number in the public records, so they mailed me a letter instead..

Tried to activate a debit card and a new credit card this week. Neither worked with Vonage.

One was for BOA and one for Chase.

The issue I had while activating mine was that the DTMF tones did not seem to jive with that particular credit card system.
