I have a Panasonic Replay HS2000, actually two, which do not connect to the service through Vonage. When dialing the access numbers through a non-Vonage line the phone is answered immediately with a modem. When the access numbers are dialed through a Vonage phone, the result is a quick busy. My conclusion is that the problem is with the Vonage phone service not Replay. I live in Glenview, Illinois and I have tried all suggested fixes with no success. I am strongly considering cancelling Vonage and returning to my previous carrier. Those individuals with Replay hard disc recorders that use phone dial up to update their channel guides should not switch to Vonage until the I T engineers at Vonage figure out their problem. |

Have you tried other access numbers for your Replay? Since nothing is technically "long distance", maybe you can try another city's access number.
Also, do you still get that quick busy when you pick up the phone and dial the number (vs. dialing via Replay)?
I have a Replay, but it's networked, so I can't remember if you can do this or not. Can you add a prefix to the number you're dialing? I was going to suggest adding *99, to the access number. |

I no longer get a quick busy but I hear the modem sounds indicating they're trying to talk. |

I also have the same problem, the modem starts but times out and does not connect. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I inserted the prefixes: *70, *99, **.
Thanks in advance. |

I have the same problem and if you do searches on this forum and on the internet, you'll find that a lot of people have this problem. Occasionally, someone will get it to work, but it seems that the vast majority of people do not get it to work.
The bottom line is that the Vonage service is simply not made for modem calls (and that includes faxes, even though vonage directly sells a second "fax line"). When you call customer support, they'll tell you that VOIP doesn't really work for any modems including fax.
I'm still on Vonage only because I got several month's worth of credit, once it runs out, I'll be going back to land lines. |

When I first got Vonage in May of last year I also had trouble with Replay. I also have the Panasonic 2000. What I had to do to make it work is slow the modem speed of Replay down to 26k (or even slower!). Once I did that it worked flawlessly. |

I tried every speed down 9600 with and without prefix codes and with and without a DSL filter inline and backwards. Still no luck. Does anyone know of a replacement modem for the 2000? |

How do I slow the modem speed down to the suggested amount on a Replay 3060? Phil |
