Hi all,

I have two lines on my Vonage account. If I cancel *one* of the lines, and leave the other (not cancelling service totally) will Vonage charge a termination fee?

I would call and ask, but I don't have the time to wait on hold.

Thanks!

The whole deal is they want the adapter back. If you got a 2nd adapter, they will charge you a cancellation fee... When you returnt the device, they will credit you.

Right now I have only one adapter, and both lines are active. Would they charge a fee just for me cancelling one line, but keeping the other?

I canceled my fax line without a "return the device" penalty so I would assume that it would be the same for a second line, but not absolutely sure.

don't bet the rent on this, but i'm pretty sure as long as you still have one line going, and are keeping the adapter you won't pay the termination fee. that fee is just to make sure they get their adapter back if/once you've cancelled your last line.

The way I understand it is if you have a fax and a voice line you would not be charged for cancelling the fax line. If you have 2 voice lines you would be charged the cancellation fee for cancelling ONE of the voice lines.

I cancelled one of my 2 voice lines that reside on one MTA. They charged me $39.99.

Thanks for the responses! Redstick, when you cancelled one line how long did it take for them to deactivate it?

I'm not a Vonage customer, but I have been thinking about it. I called them today to ask about the termination fee. They said they refund the fee if you return the device. I asked if that was in the Terms of Service agreement and they said it was.

I can't find it.

I would need to see the agreement in writing before I sign up. I don't like companies that say one thing but print another!
