Was there an upgrade in the last couple of days. I now have a dns resolution problem on my Optimum Online service. My cable modem is OK (called tech support) but of course cannot get in touch with a human being at Vonage. Witing on the phone for 40 minutes as I type. This stinks. OK just got a ring through to tech after 42 minutes and they dropped my call. This is the worst support I have ever experienced.

Sorry I was so angry about trying to contact Vonage I didn't explain.

When I open a web page I get a 'page cannot be displayed....' error, then if I refresh, the page comes right up. I have ipconfig /release and renew, flushdns, deleted cookis and cache, rebooted the VT1005v, all the things I have thought to do. This happens in IE and Firefox. I have not made any changes in modem configs or internet. This just started 2 days ago and my ISP has pinged and checked my up and down speeds and all is fine with my cable modem. So I'm wondering if Vonage has done any firmware upgrades recently that might account for this.

not that has been posted here or elsewhere, so unlikely. you could always check yourself since it would only make a difference if your particular device received one.
a network setup would be good, and also an explanation if you have taken the moto completely out of the network just to make sure it actually has anything to do with the issue.
also, what is your home page set to? I saw someone with a similar problem the other day, but it turned out his home page had somehow been set to that error page.

I would be suprised if this problem was related to anything outside of your PC. More likely is a browser autoproxy configuration or a spybot proxy server. Check Control Panel -> Internet Properties -> Connections -> LAN Settings. Install Spybot Search & Destroy.

No nothing like that. Spybot S & D ran and re-ran as soon as this happened. My homepage is a Yahoo custom page. My home page is http://www.roban.net.

apparently he's just ranting about vonage's way of doing things.
they push it out to users. that's the way it is. the "crap" which you refer to is a lot more than any other Vonage user who is not on this forum gets.
