You're probably right but we own the equipment, not Vonage. It would be a nice option for those that aren't technically challenged, don't you agree.

It is a pain in the butt to wait on hold for two hours to get a firmware update. I do wish the option was available to update from a link ourselves.

define technically challenged with 500,000 users. better for them to completely avoid it is my guess. and you can download the firmware, it seems the problem is with applying it to the router. only one person that I remember claimed to do it successfully with the rt31p2.

How do I get Vonage to upgrade my firmware on my PAP2, I am at 2.0.11B and am having a lot of voice clarity issues. I was told the new firmware will resolve some of these issues but finding someone that in knowledgeable and can help in Vonage CS is painful. The last person I spoke with said it was done but I just checked and no dice, they lied to me.

when your account is flagged for an upgrade, it may not happen immediately. unplug it and plug it back in if you haven't yet. and when you do, unplug any phones from the jacks.

no. that's what they do - flag it for an update. then the system goes and updates it, soon afterwards usually.

I've read in another posting, and I can't find it now of course, that it fixes some choppy audio issues, but that's all it mentioned.

I have never, neither has a Vonage Rep., come across any type of change log, so I'm not sure where we could find out.

It was murder trying to get the firmware installed by a Vonage CSR but it has appeared to fix my very bad audio problem however it is still early in the game. If Vonage got the customer support thing down it would be nicer to work with them but sitting on hold for 80 minutes is NOT good CS. The first time I called I waited 60 minutes and then they hung up on me after they answered, I was pissed! Evil or Very Mad . There is no accountability for the support crew, they need to use a CS ticketing system like Remedy that tracks the time it takes them to resolve problems.
