Post subject: After 3 Months of waiting... FRUSTRATION HAS SET IN!!!
I signed up for
Vonage
after researching the features that you had to offer. In particular, I was interested in porting my exisiting AT&T number over to
Vonage
. I received my equipment on 12/26/04, took a bit but was able to set it up without a problem. On 1/17/05, I received an email from
Vonage
saying that my line has been transfered (LNP complete). Well, this is when my problem started...
First, you canceled my virtual number from which I was having my AT&T number forwarded to while waiting for the LNP to complete. By the mistake that
Vonage
made, I was without service for 2 days until I got a hold of a customer care person to fix my problem. YES, 2 DAYS WITHOUT A PHONE!!! They told me that my LNP was INCOMPLETE and they are opening up a ticket (this will be the first of many to come!). MEANWHILE, my WEB account says my LNP is complete. I wait another month, and recieve my Bill. TO MY AMAZEMENT, I WAS CHARGE A 2nd VITURAL NUMBER - mind you my first number was canceled by
Vonage
because they thought my LNP was complete.
OK, at this point, I'm getting charged a 2nd virtual number (which I don't have), my LNP is not complete, although my WEB account says it is. So I call on Feb 16, I call customer service. After waiting for 1 hour, I get someone who refunds me back my virtual number, but not to my Credit Card, but back to
Vonage
. I'm still getting charged a 2nd number. He opens up a ticket for LNP INCOMPLETE and I wait...
Yesterday, March 3, I wait for 1 hour on Customer Care waiting to hear a human voice, I FINALLY get someone and this person says he has no update of my LNP INCOMPLETE Ticket. He has to open another Ticket.
("I REALIZE NOW THAT
Vonage
IS VERY GOOD A OPENING TICKETS, BUT CAN'T TRACK THEM NOR FOLLOW-THRU WITH RESOLVING THE PROBLEM"). After several lengthy explaination to the Customer Care person, I was not satisfy that I'm back on hold and I wanted to speak to a supervisor. He couldn't help me, but will have someone call back.
Today, March 4th, I'm calling the same LNP customer care line, and have been put on hold for the last 40 mins, waiting...
At this point, I don't BELIEVE THAT
Vonage
can offer the service they promise, namely porting over an existing number. I WANT TO CANCEL MY SERVICE, REFUND MY MONEY, TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. I'M GOING BACK TO AT&T, THEY HAVE
Voip
SERVICE. IT's $5.00 MORE A MONTH, BUT IT"S WORTH IT.!!!
Vonage
, YOU LOST ANOTHER CUSTOMER...
BTW - During the last 3 months, I signed up a friend on
Vonage
, I WILL TELL HIM TO DROP IT AS WELL. I'm SURE HE TOLD A FEW OTHER PEOPLE, AND WE WILL ASK THEM TO DROP
Vonage
AS WELL...
DONE AND OUT..

Everyone has had issues with companies before and
Vonage
is not any different. I understand that you are upset about what happened and you should be. Its unfortunate that you had to cancel your service.

I hear alot of "sorry" from
Vonage
. But after many of these, you can't expect people to believe it. GET YOUR COMPANY and service together and ALL THE PROBLEMS WORKED OUT before you advertise it again!

Myeung, the countries supply of telephone numbers is exhausted. It is an extremely difficult process to acquire any telephone number let alone a specific one. AT&T will not be willing to give up a phone number unless it has to by law, and this is the case with your number.
Meanwhile,
Vonage
is trying to purchase the number you want from AT&T who is doing everything in it's power to confuse the transfer of the number out of pure cantankerousness. Apparently, they have succeeded to a point.
You see, AT&T knows that it is losing business to
Vonage
. They also know that they will someday soon be replaced by
Vonage
. It is unfortunate that you got caught up in the scuffle.
This is not entirely Vonages fault. Businesses can be awfully contemptible when it suits them. I assure you that this will all work out, and if you push a little you may even get a free month out of it. Please be patient and understanding as these two companies battle it out.

You know, I keep reading a lot about transferring your old number to
Vonage
and constant issues.
Like the last guy had commented and more..
You blame
Vonage
for the LNP problem. You do realize there are 100's of company's out there trying to keep
Vonage
away from them? They will claim they transferred it, but didn't. They will say, I will get right on it. Instead they get on it 3 months later.. when it suits them.
Keep in mind.
Vonage
is the "New Kid on the Block" as far as the POTS service people are concerned. And they don't wanna share the toys!
Also, as a side note. Stop whining about loss of service when the network goes down. It does happen with POTS as well. Some places more often then not. The Internet is a great tool. Saves lots of time and money, but people get way too spoiled.
God Bless
