I wonder when Frontier does the actual disconnect. When I called last week the disconnect was scheduled for 3/16. As of right now it is still live.

I am in the same boat this morning... carrier approved transfer message on Vonage website, and e-mail saying porting is due to occur today. I have actually moved out of my old place so the line -still- waiting to be moved is still at the old address (tied off wires in the townhouse maintenance office so it's not accessible to anyone else). I won't be sure when Vonage cuts off service... hopefully it will follow the same route as the rest of you.

I do know you are truly ported when access to your virtual number on the Vonage site disappears.

So I am at work (xerox) and tried calling my house number (the porting one). I get a automatted "This phone number has been disconnected"... umm.. So I thought Frontier disconnects, the Vonage turns on, right? Now I do NOT have a phone pluged into my router yet, but I have my settings to ring my cell at hte same time, then goto Voicemail in 10 seconds.

So I am thinking my porting is currently happening right NOW.. I hope, if not then Vonage gets a nasty call later today asking why my number is disconnected...

I will post again once I know more.

Still no movement here. If I call our current number from my cell phone, the POTS line still rings. If I call the number from work, the Vonage line rings.

Port is still shown as scheduled for yesterday, no e-mail from Vonage, no changes on Dashboard.

Currently sitting on hold w/ the LNP department. Will edit this post with any new information.


Edit: I did finally get through to someone at the LNP department. After several minutes of confused noises, she issued me a ticket number so someone could look into why the port didn't happen. She also credited my account for this month since the port has not happened within the nominal 20 business days. So, still waiting...

Same here. I called last night and LNP dept. told me "you are almost there man"

He said after you get to the 'Carrier Approved Transfer' status it may take a day or 2 for it to complete. Oye!!!!!

FYI, if you have what I have, a non-complete port Evil or Very Mad where you have a disconnected number then CALL ASAP. I am still getting a disconnected message, and the LNP guy is getting the same and is going to make a Tier 3 ticket.... great. I will update again when I know more as I am still on the phone with this person

At this point the service had BETTER be great...

Well I am pleased to inform that my port has completed. The dashboard still is showing my temp virtual# but my wife just called me on my way home from work and my normal home# now rings the Vonage phones consistently.

Finally working, so the Port request took about 30 bussiness days:

request sent: Feb 3, 2005
Port done: Mar 17, 2005

I am also still show a virtual number, but my real number is working YEA!

My port is also complete. As others have noted. when the port was done, I got a one-ring call from Vonage, then, a few minutes later, the POTS line went dead. Got all the phones shuffled around, and all is good! Very Happy

Now, to see what the security system does...
