I want to transfer my number from Qwest to Vonage. I chose to only get online statements a few months ago. Will Vonage accept an e-statement printed out with the Letter of Authorization?
Anyone had experience porting a number over from Qwest? How long did it take? Thanks. |

Yes they will, make sure account/tel number and your name shows on the bill. It takes a minimum of 20 days for the transfer. |

That's what I had to do too, and it was fine.
In fact, I signed up with Vonage using my name, and the SBC was my wife's name. When I realized that the names had to match, I had to quickly change the account holder's name on my Vonage account to my wife's name before generating the LOA. |

I cancelled my DSL a few days ago. My LOA was received and sent to carrier on 3/4. I logged into my account with Qwest to see if my DSL got cancelled properly and it said
LOCAL SERVICE Our records show that this account has been disconnected. For more information, please contact a Qwest Representative at 800-244-1111.
My POTS line still works though. Does this mean it's in the process of being cancelled which means it'll be done in a few days? Weird.[/b] |

Did you cancel your Qwest line (phone, not DSL) before the LNP to Vonage was completed? I don't think you're supposed to do that.

Uhhh no. That's why I'm so surprised that it says that. All I cancelled was the DSL. Only explanation I can think of is that Qwest processed my number transfer that quick and now I'm just waiting for a disconnect date. I guess I'll give 'em a call. |
