My Vonage is driving me away ... I've spent several days on the phone with tech support ... waiting from 30 min to an hour each time to get through.
Problem .... There is an audio time delay between when I say something and when the receiver actually gets my voice. This is causing a loss of intelligent communications, speaking on top of each other and loss of information. Legacy delays of 3 to 7 seconds ate not tolerable. My connection speed is 670K and I've tried all settings of my band width. Nothing seems to help.
Voip with Vonage is a great idea ... if it would only work I think the company has experience too rapid a growth and cannot keep up with the demand for service. I do wish them all the best ... but not on my dime.
Vonage technicians have no answer ... If I can't fix this, I'll join the masses who have signed up for Vonage, only to leave at the end of their free term.
Anyone with a solution, please contact me at DEKTOL72@AOL.COM
Thanks, Steve |

this is definitely a problem, but I'm not sure what it's a problem with. obviously it's some kind of latency, but it's present on cell phones also. not 6-7 seconds, but I'd say at least .5 second, at least for me. with packet8, I had this problem pretty bad, but again, maybe a second or 2. enough for annoying talkovers and just an all around bad conversation. Vonage is definitely better, and I don't think I've even noticed it more than once or twice. your best bet is to get the detailed results from testyourvoip.com, but it seems like it could be a network and/or isp issue with that kind of latency. |

I have been trying to reach them for days. Admittedly, I hang up after 15 minutes or so. A couple of times, after wading through all their menu options, I ended up with a busy signal! I just tried again a few minutes ago. This time I got a busy signal right off the bat! |

I believe Vonage is using a Nortel phone system switch at their call center.. I wonder if they monitor time till Call Abandonment? Or for that matter TSF (how quickly calls are answered in the wanted time frame.. then again maybe their time acceptable frame is something like an hour.. EEEK!) |
