Call Vonage. I think they hit me with a $29 setup fee, and then the first months service of $24.99. With taxes, it came to $68 or something. They shipped me the router for free, and I had it within a few days. Plugged it in and it worked. No activation necessarry. $24.99/month from here on out, something like $27+ change every month with taxes, and all the long distance I want....

Vonage unlimited (24.99) comes out to 27.24/month with a 3% federal excise tax and regulatory recovery fee. you have to "buy the box" yes. if you buy it retail you get waived activation and shipping fees. if you order from Vonage, there is a 29.99 activation fee and 9.99 shipping fee, but there is no charge for the actual device (unless you count the activation fee).
I was going to do the referred by a friend thing. So I called Vonage to ask how referrals worked and the young lady said she would give me the RT31P2 for free, waive the activation, and give me my first month free if I would pay the $9.95 shipping of the router. MUCH cheaper than the refer a friend at the time. Paid it, hooked it up, LOVE it!
