Funny thing you should mention that. When I was on the phone with
Vonage
today, I explained the FCC expectation to them, and what does the rep tell me?
"We are not government regulated, therefore, we can take AS LONG AS WE WANT... weather you like it or not, you will just have to wait."
HOLY COW!!! I couldnt believe it, I wish I would have caught that on tape. Oh and that was AFTER the previous rep had put me BACK into the queue for another hour of waiting for someone to pick up the phone.. HEH....

Hey rebus, I've been waiting for line transfer since Feb 7th. I did what you had suggested. Illinois state civil service commision called me the next morning and said that
Vonage
is not regulated so they cant do anything about it, so she suggested filling a complaint with FCC.
My question to you is, how did you get your state commision to help you out. Did you even bring
Vonage
into the equation? Or did you just file a complaing with XO? I think my complaint might've been wrong. I filled a complaint to SBC saying that they are not porting the number over to
Vonage
, which is in regulation with FCC law. I was thinking about re-filling a complaint with the company that is handling my transfer request which is Choice One.
Actually I already filled it with FCC, but I was thinking of doing another one with the civil commission. What you think?

Could you PM me more information about what you did?
In case anyone else had the same question, I'll respond here. The process was quite simple. I went to the Florida Public Service Commission's website (found the URL on Google) and filled out the online complaint form. Within a day, both XO and the PSC made contact with me and the ball rolled on from there.
The PSC may have a different process in your state, so your mileage may vary.

Post subject: Help in VA? (And possibly a new record!!!)
My transfer started in August after I requested it in June. It still hasn't happened, and I've gotten Verizon bills ever since that I've had to pay. So perhaps that's a record!
Same old same old - my average wait time is 18 minutes in calling the LNP department; "we aren't regulated"; "we've submitted your request" etc.
I'd love to try this method of calling "XO" but I don't know what that is. Also not sure what agency in Virginia to contact. Can anyone assist?

You know, the comment from a
Vonage
employee saying "We are not government regulated, therefore, we can take AS LONG AS WE WANT... weather you like it or not, you will just have to wait." bothers me.
If they go around saying stupid stuff like that, it won't be long before they do become regulated!!

Can you please provide a link to that phrase?
