Hello, I have a PAP2 , SB5100 & an Intel hub. Will this configuration to work? When I reboot the config I either get broadband to my computer or to the Linksys PAP2, but not both. What am I doing wrong?
TIA, -dMR |

no this will not work.
Your cable company is onyl going to give you ONE IP address unless you pay $9.95 a month for another. When you reboot, the cable modem has to get that one IP address in order to have internet access otherwise that one IP address will be given to the PAP2. A regular hub, regardless of type, is really just a network "splitter" and not a router. You should go buy an inexpensive router like a DLINK DI-624 or one of LINKSYS's routers. I suggested the DLINK because it has more advanced filtering and firewalling than the linksys.
If you need help I'll be happy to work with you all the way through. -ej |
