Polinator, (ToddlerTN - you too)

Glad that it works for you. You will not have a problem with the DHCP on the Vonage router. Because it is only connected to your network via the WAN port it will not respond to a DHCP request.

Regarding the house wiring, I use my Vonage line as Line #2 and purchased my wife a two-line cordless phone so she can call home LD with incurring the wrath of MCI <grin>.

Take a phone cord fom the Vonage port and plug into a wall outlet that is connected to the Line 2 black&yellow wires. Most builders do not connect the black/yellow wires to the room outlets; only red&green which is line 1.

You will have to disconnect the black & yellow wires in your network box from the phone company or you are sending dialtone to them. I have helped a few people with this previously with positive results. Hopefully you can search the posts for my name to read them. If not let me know.

Yes, you should be able to enable remote management although I have no personal experience doing this on the Vonage router.
My frontline gear facing the Internet is a PIX firewall that allows me a VPN session to the house which is why the Vonage router is connected (treated) the way it is.

All the above is really helpful information, except what is the Linksys Voange Router's IP address - something like 192.168.15.? ????

And then, how can I access this router to shut off DHCP assigns so my primary router (also a Linksys) can run the show?

Hello, Fred, welcome aboard. If you have the RTP300, that address is 192.168.15.1 . You can get to it by plugging a computer directly into the RTP300- temporarily if you wish- and going to that address. You can then access it from other computers plugged into the main router by enabling remote administration. Do a forum search on that for details. Of course, you might want to make the adapter your main router- that's up to you.

It would have helped if you had started a new topic for your question instead of tacking it on to an old thread. A lot of people will miss it this way.

In addressing the Vonage Router, I found on the main screen various items such as using the router as a DHCP server, etc. Where do I select Remote Administration in this software?

By the way - your tip about getting to the router by attaching another computer worked perfectly.
