My 20 business days came and went. I emailed dslreports@vonage.com last night and actually got a personal reply this morning, but what he had to say confuses me. Here is what he wrote back:
"In regard to the issue you have with number transfer,I have checked your account and it shows that the number was supposed to be ported on Feb 22nd,2005 but it was not completed. We will have to escalate this and we will wait for their response.
Also, we have issued a month of free service on your account for the delay."
I appreciate the credit to my account, but I am confused how a number was scheduled to be ported but never gets completed?? I also contacted AT&T yesterday and they say that they have no record of any LOA or request to port my number. What the heck is going on here? Anyone else have this happen? If so, what was your outcome? |

That is exactly what happened to me. I also had a due date of Feb 22nd which came and went without anything happening. I called on the 23rd and was told that the rep would open a ticket with my current carrier, Qwest. Thus far, I've received no response from Vonage or from Qwest.
*sigh*
Vonage, are you listening? People are frustrated and as fast as your marketing might be picking up customers, word of mouth is scaring them away. |

Hmmm, it seems as though something screwy happened on Feb 22nd with numbers that were attempted to be ported on that day. The odd thing is that on Feb 23rd, my family said they kept trying to call me on my local landline number and couldn't get through. They got ahold of me on my cell to let me know. I tried calling my local landline number from my cell after getting off the phone with them, and sure enough it wouldn't go through. But when I picked up my landline I had a dialtone and could call out. Seems as though something got screwed up somewhere around Feb 22nd - 23rd. My hope is that they figure it out and finish up with the port before another month goes by. |

Same thing happened to me, only it happened on Feb 15th. I was in the books for LNP at 10AM. I called the next day and talked to someone who had no clue why the transfer did not happen. Several calls later, no response to why it did not happen and no new transfer date. |
