Does anyone using this have problems? All of the reviews on amazon were terrible for the Vonage service on this router. Have they corrected this? I would like to go wireless but not at the expense of my phone quality.

Thank You

Check out this thread:

Basically, the router works great, but there is the same "phaser sound" issue as the other Linksys Router/Phone Adapters. Also, Vonage has shipped me a new unit that is supposed to have a fix for the issue. So, if you purchase one today you may get one without the issue.

thanks jnuzzi. So where do I buy the wrt from? Vonage, or somewhere else online. Will Vonage acknowledge a problem if I buy it elsewhere and encounter one?

They will only acknowledge the problem with the router, and send you a replacement unit if necessary, if you purchase the unit from them.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I beg to differ. I purchased my router from Amazon.com (I already had a Motorola device) and they are sending me a new unit. Smile

thanks guys,
Do I actually buy it from Vonage or just one of their retailers?
I can not find where Vonage sells them.

Jim, did Vonage replace the one you bought from amazon or did amazon replace it?

I have never seen Vonage give this device out before today.
see jim's earlier posts here: http://www.vonage-forum.com/sutra18458.html
but I don't think they actually sell them. or if they do it's a brand new deal. so unless something has changed, you have to buy it at a retail location.

I have not seen Vonage selling this device either. I purchased mine from Amazon.com and now Vonage is sending a replacement unit. Also, I had Linksys replace the device once about 2 months ago and the new unit still had the line noise so I am hoping that it is actually resolved this time. Wink

Unfortunately, I received this email from Vonage the other day:

Quote:
I sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you on this. I incorrectly thought that you were requesting a replacement for an RT31P2 Linksys device. We have a new shipment of those devices that have the fix for the hissing/background noise, but we don't have WRT54GP2 with the fix. We don't carry the WRT's directly and the RT31P2's that we carry aren't wireless routers. Those devices are regular 3 port routers. When there is a fix for the WRT's, the new devices will be rolled-out to the retail chains, we won't have the devices to ship out from here. I apologize for this confusion.
