I just received an email from Vonage stating that a new WRT54GP2 is being shipped to me. This new device is supposed to be one of the new "no phaser sound" devices from Linksys.

I will post an update after I receive my new device.

interesting. do you mind posting the email? this is the first time I've ever seen a non-standard (and by that I mean the cisco ata186, motorola and linksys rt31p2...the ones that are at http://vonage.com/help_knowledgeBase_article.php?category=45&article=111 device shipped from Vonage.

wow, that's something. how did you get yourself in the situation to get such an email? (i..e phone calls, emails, "we'll put you on a list", etc.)

Well, here is my story.

I first signed up for Vonage in June 2004 and I was sent a Mtorola device. This device worked flawlessly fro mthe day I received it. I then purchased a WRT54GP2 from Amazon.com and switched over to that device. From day one I had the "phaser sound" on this device. After several emails to support folks, I was "put on a list" and after several more emails I received the above reply.
