We have been using Vonage for a few months now and have been impressed with the service overall. Over the last two weeks though, things have been getting really screwy. First my setup:

Comcast 6mbps/768kbps
Linksys Router(Vonage Provided)
Latest firmware
QOS on, 90kbps

Original Configuration:
Cable Modem -> Voip router->Phone/PCs

We suddenly started experiencing fast busys and the recorded message "All circuits are busy" on INBOUND calls. Outgoing calls seem to work just fine. After talking to tech support we tried turning QOS off. The only appreciable effect was to free up some bandwidth during phone calls. I decided to tinker. My configuration now is:

Cable Modem -> Linksys Router(BEFSR41) -> Voip router

I figured since I had enough bandwidth to make QOS irrelevant, I turned it off and moved the Voip device further back in the config. It had seemed like when a lot of connections were going through it, the performance went south quickly. Not having to handle PC traffic should have helped the Voip router in dealing with traffic.

Unfortunately none of this helped. The strangest part is, call quality is absolutely perfect. That is when we can actually recieve a call.

Any suggestions anyone?

I am occassionally getting complaints from people calling me tell me the same thing. I can't see how it can have anything to do with bandwidth since its incoming calls to me and the person calling is getting that message not from me but from where ever the call is getting routed over.

where are you located?

There are some issues at the moment,

I know this states caller ID but maybe there are some other issues. Give them a call.

Does anyone know if this issues has been settled? I do not see this on my dashboard today, but I still have inbound callers complaining of a fast busy signal on my line today.

I've had intermittent fast busy on incoming calls, too, in 781.

I don't really like it when service announcements are incomplete, does anyone know if Vonage's customer service reps knew something other than caller-ID was affected and yet this was not in the service announcement?

I'm in 512 area code so I don't think the info about caller id on the dashboard has anything to do with this problem. I haven't had any complaints in a few days though. The complaint today is tunnel sound. The problems always seem to come from the same caller in the same location though so I'm thinking more and more its not me.

I have had this issue for the past two weeks as well. When I first reported, the support reps said they couldn't escalate the issue since everytime they called me they couldn't replicate the issue. I had the following things happen when people tried to call me:
Fast Busy
Message "The number you have dialed is currently not in service, please try your call again later"
Message "All circuits are busy now, please try your call again later"

I was happy to see the Vonage dashboard with the messages that they were working on the issue in the Chicago area.

My concern is this....since the issue didn't occur on all calls coming in, how do I know that it is fixed? I realize the message has disappeared from the Vonage dashboard, but since I don't really know when I am not getting an inbound call I am still concerned.

Anyone know anything else?
