Just a reminder that

or DirecTV has had problems for some time now and when I had DirecTV my receivers were dialing out many, many times per day. That's OK if you have the unlimited plan, but if you are on the 500 plan your minutes will be used up very quickly.

I have a Directv DVR R10 and the setting that I used that worked real well are the following:
Dial In: 212-238-4220
Dial Prefix: *99
Call waiting: *70
Tone/Pulse: Tone
Phone avail: OFF
Dial tone detect: OFF
This setup works about 90% of the time for me thus far, but I just got it figured out tonight. I got it too work 9 out of 10 times though when I dial out manually. I have the Motorola VT 1000. Didn't know what

adapter you had. you may need different settings if you have a different adapter. I am not sure. I hope these setting work for you as i Know how frustrating it is.
