I would pay $100 to get my number ported in 72Hrs from right now.
(Hint, Hint, anybody at Vonage LNP want to score an extra C-Note under the table? Please contact me.) |

Unfortunately, it just doesn't work like that. |

Do you know anyone that has tried it?
$100 would be a nice little bonus for someone working in a call center. |

From what my wife has told me (she's a Customer Care Rep at Vonage) you'd have to grease a lot more than just one person to get a hyper-expedited LNP. There are multiple companies involved & such so it's not a simple "Here's $100, flip the switch for me" sort of deal. |

I'm sure it's not. My point is, get it done, get some cash.
If that means "flip a switch" and make some phone calls, do it.
If that means the rep has to split the cash with their counterpart at bellsouth, do it.
This should not be a big deal. I have transfered numbers before with LECS on large accounts and multiple numbers. (Heck even going from POTS to PRI's) We would schedule the day of the transfer and it would happen. Why would moving a single number be more difficult? |

If you are willing to pay upwards of $100 for a smooth, expedited LNP, here's my 2c... cancel your Vonage account and go with AT&T CV for a year or so. That extra $5 a month (assuming unlimited plan) will cost you only $60. If after a year, Vonage's LNP process improves a lot, by all means switch. |

Does AT&T have all the call features of Vonage? That is really what sold me.
Does AT&T CV not have the same problem of getting numbers transferred?
Sounds as if you are suggesting that Vonage is in some type of financial trouble. I have not heard that before. |

Nah, people who just can't sort out their problems still hang out here posting that Vonage will be out of business soon. It's just sour grapes. |
