I know that the IP address starts with 10. even though the IP assigned by Comcast is 67. whatever. I can login to it using 192.168.100.1 as well. I don't know what you mean by your statement in regards to RT.

Also, my speeds have been stellar. After the speed update I've tested speeds over 4Mbps through different sources.
what sources are you testing with?

Are you referring to what website am I using to test my speed?

-2wire
-DSLreports (has a variety)
-cablemodem.net

others... I don't get the same results from them all of course. I'm not really convinced there's any good way to test speed do to all the vaiables.

Why?

I'm cuious about the Motorola modem but I'm watching my budget and the DLink was a good deal off of NewEgg. I've had good luck with DLink products and the prices have always been attractive during sales/rebates.

Still curious about "Your DCM 200 (?) will not give an IP to an RT connected directly behind it."

Very Happy

My speeds are supposed to be 4Mpbs down and 356k up. Vonage test shows 2.8Mpbs down and 354k up.

Other tests show other results. I'm not convinced there is any one test that's perfect with too many variables to consider.

I should have tested the Motorola modem when I had it. I could have tested it against the DCM-202 from DLink. I never took the Motorola out of the box and the deal on the DLink was too good to pass up from NewEgg.

Our test is dead on for me, at home, the office...

The only people that seem to have an issue with our test are Comcast customers who have received the "upgrade".

I have the DCM 202 and have had no problems with it. I replaced a Motorola 4100 and the speed increase was amazing. For the price I thought i would try this out before buying the newest Motorola product. Here are my Vonage speed results for what it's worth. Comcast is my isp.

Yikes...

After booting up this a.m. here's my results from Vonage:

Down: 2.7
Up: 370
QOS: 22%
RTT:71ms
MaxPause: 547ms

these suck!!

I did four other random tests. The other results look really good. One of the 4 did show 1.2 down but other all were over 4 and one was as high as 7. Weird. But....the internet and all things considered. Suprised at my Vonage tests.
