I recently got Vonage and everything is working fine but I can't get into the control panel of the router. I've tried to normal username and password (admin, admin) but it doesn't work. I've also tried resetting the router a few times but the problem still remains. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Please help. Thanks |

It should be "blank" username and "admin" password.... Don't type in admin for the username. Are you plugged directly into the Linksys? |

Plugging directly into the Linksys
You need to set a static IP for your computer: 1.Go to > Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > and Double Click your connection (shoud say LAN)
2.Once there click on properties another box pops up.
3.highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties in this box.
4.select "Use the following IP Address"
5. For IP Address Enter: 192.168.15.2 6. For Subnet Enter 255.255.255.0 7. For Defualt Gateway Enter: 192.168.15.1
7. Click OK 8. Click OK 9. Click Close
now Enter 192.168.15.1 in your browser window.
This should get you into the Linksys control panel. |

I don't have a problem getting to the Linksys, I just can't get in when the username / password prompt comes up. |

Not to be goofy, but do you think your router is a refurb and still has the old owners password?
Here's the actual instructions that I used:
How to Access the Web-based Utility To access the Web-based Utility of the Router, launch Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, and enter the Router’s default IP address, 192.168.15.1, in the Address field. Press the Enter key. A screen will appear asking you for your User name and Password. Enter admin in the User Name and Password fields. Then click the OK button. |

heh, yeah I thought it was weird when I first saw someone post that user name can be blank. I always used admin/admin. |

Also just to make sure, when you do a reset on the router, don't just push the reset button in and let it go, hold it in for at least 5 seconds. Some of them you have to hold it in while you power it up to do the reset to default settings.
That should reset the password, then no username admin password has to work. |

I'm having the same problems, I've tried admin/admin, blank/admin, admin/blank...yet I cant get into router.
Is it possible that previous owners passwords are on there?
Also, if I reset the router, will any of my Vonage info get screwed on it? or will it be okay? |
