About four hours passed, as I was told, I got a call from a Vonage rep, as I was driving to work, and was told that my number was up and running and had been tested from both a land line and a Vonage line. I thanked him and called home, (hands free of course; I recently purchased a Prius with the bluetooth package. very cool), and was pleased to hear the answering machine pick up.
With any luck I'll have a boring but reliable phone experience from here on in. I'll let you know.
