I DO NOT know why you are getting them calls on your NON Vonage line, but IT IS A Vonage PROBLEM. Take time and read the forum, a LOT more than myself is complaining about this. Vonage has major issue's!!
it is 100 percent Vonage that is doing the phone calls. I can tell you that If I get another one of these PHONE CALLS at night, I am going to be really UPSET at Vonage, they don't know a angry customer yet until they meet me! Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil

Do transaction IDs show up for those calls at all? If they do, e-mail and the problem should go right to the people that know what the hell they are doing. They should be able to find out where the call originated from but they probably won't be able to determine the actual phone number - at least that it was a call from a POTS network or internal Vonage.

As for the false advertising, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Unfortunately the FCC deems Vonage as a normal phone company and they have started classifying rates in the same manner. Unfortunately for us cheap folk with the $24.99 plan we get to pay $.50 more a month while the unlimited customers get a true discount. I'm not going to complain about two quarters since gasoline prices screw me out of more money every day.

Please don't take my original e-mail as a flame against you, as it appears you have. I just was giving advice for troubleshooting since your claims won't be heard very loudly when there is no documentation to back it up. It probably is an issue with Vonage misrouting calls but unless they have tracks to follow, I don't see what they can do.

Vonage is growing in leaps and bounds, growing faster than they expected to grow. Its growing pains like anything, and they will have any issue worked on as soon as they can!

They get 150-300 service issues every day, and the reason for the delay, they work on every issue one by one. That is how they do it. I would rather then work on my issue and dedicate the time then have a phone company say, well no one else is having the problem and then just leave it alone.

So the wait to have something fixed is worth it.

Vonage is a+++ in my book

Not sure if it's related, but I've noticed that since I've moved to Vonage I get odd incoming calls that only complete part of the time. I found in almost all cases that it was an automated dialer like the telemarketing companies use. About half the time the call with come through but there is a long delay after the call is connected. I've never had it happen when a human calls me. Not sure why it happens, maybe it's a delay in the call setup or something.

Anyway, now that I know what it is it's a feature as far as I'm concerned.

did you ever think it might be from a computer dialing numbers to check for voice on the line and then logging into the system for a call to you later from some advertisement crap.
do any of you guys honestly get any telemarketers calling beside the beeping?

why would Vonage send you a beepping phone call and how could that hepl Vonage in any way?

I have recieved calls from fax machines for years on my home phone, simply because someone dials the wrong number. Just like I have already recieved wrong numbers on my Vonage phone (a doctors office trying to call a patient, the girl said she dialed the number wrong).
I use a fax at work daily, if the fax does not go through, the machine will automatically re-dial until it is able to complete the fax. I can program the fax to re-dial as often as I feel necessary.
I think too much blame is being put on Vonage! They can not control every idiot out there who might dial your phone number by mistake!!!
