Help! Anyone have any suggestions? I sent my letter the Vonage and they show Transfer Sent to Carrier on 12/21/04. I've tried calling Vonage today and multiple times but can't get anyone on the phone. Today, when I hit the number to speak to a rep, I got a busy signal. I've tried 8 times throughout today to contact them.
I sure am open to any advice. I know it should take a while to transfer but since 12/21?
Thanks!!! Jay |

Frankly, that is quite pathetic. Have you tried emailing the CEO. That is what I am about to start doing. If I have to do the job of the LNP department, then, I might as well let their boss know how well they are supporting their customers. I wouldn't want to short-change them their due. His name is Jeffrey Citron and I'm guessing by the format of email located on the Corporate page, my email to jeffrey.citron@vonage.com is going to have a pretty good chance of getting through. Just to make sure, I'm going to use the additional email addresses located on the Corporate page. I can understand saving a buck by going to virtual Helpdesk via email, but, you have to have competent people in place to make something like that work. |

you might want to look at this forum http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic3855.html
it might be helpful. I have filed a complaint with FCC and my state civil service commission. And I think that's partly the reason why I got my tentative transfer date.... so maybe you should give that a shot.... |

Thanks for the info! I'll see who I can complain to. I called Vonage and talked to them today. They lady said "You just need to wait" so I asked how long she said "oh... a few weeks or a few days.."... Man, this is frustrating! I love the service but getting the number ported is important. Should I cancel my service and try with someone else? |

I dont know about canceling. there have been peeps that waited 8 months.
And anyways, Vonage credits you for every charge passed the 20business days. So even if you get your transfer this month, you'll get credit from January.
What you need to do is, call up the LNP transfer department, and ask them who is handling your number transafer. Vonage sends your number transfer request to a third party which handles it for them. Then the third party works it out with your local provider.
It has been seen and noted many times that neither Vonage or your current provider is to blamed for the delay of your transfer. Majority of the time its the third party that is holding it up. And they are the ones that you want to file a complaint against! And write in the complaint that they are sitting on it or have a huge back log; which is usually the reason for the delay. |

Thanks for the info! I'll call them immediately and see who is handling it. I don't want to cancel. It is just getting frustrating having to wait so long.

I am still waiting since Jan 04 for my transfer. XO seams to be dragging there feet in getting this done from Qwest. All my email replies are the standard " we will escalate". |
