Post subject: Wireless Access Point plugged into switch
We are renting a few offices right next door to our main building. I have a wireless router pointing over to next door and an access point next door receiving the signal and is very strong. I then plug the access point into my Dell POE switch there. We have 3 offices that plug into the switch and internet works just fine. Download speeds are 40down and about 15up which I think is very good considering the setup. So when I plug our VVX500 phone into the switch it works no problem BUT when I plug it into the office it works for about 10 seconds and then stops and says network is down and then says no DHCP. During those 10 seconds I can quickly make or receive a call on it also. From the offices it goes back to the patch panel, then from patch panel into switch. I am lost on why it works directly into the switch but not in the office. Its all cat5e wiring and brand new. Anyways any suggestions would be nice.
