My daughter needs to disconnect the BellSouth line from the box on the outside of her new house to go Voip with her in-house wiring. The problem is the unusual locking screw on this access box. It has a pin in the middle unlike anything we have ever seen. The usual tools just won't do the job. Suggestions? |

No basement. Don't know what an "extended demarc" is, but this is a simple (but band new) prewired ranch home with a simple setup. I have never had a problem getting into a telco box until this. |

Where the phone company drops off the line is called the "demarcation point", or "demarc". Often, instead of just being dropped off outside, it is extended into the house and can be disconnected at that box as well. |

It's a tamper-resistant security screw of some sort..
Could be:
Security Torx (6-point star with center pin):

Truss Spanner, or "Snake Eyes" (Round head with two holes for spanner tool):

Security Hex (Allen hex key with center pin):

Security Phillips (Standard Phillips with center pin):

Tri-wing (3 point, no pin)

Some of these are easy to get, others are not.. Let me know what the head looks like and I'll help you find the driver for it. (there are supposed to be pictures of each screw, so let me know if they aren't there) |
