I read about everyone changing this to 512, but I can not find where this is.

If I go here, I can not access the voice settings. Says to contact provider.

what device do you have?
if it's the rt31p2, don't click the voice tab. go to apps and gaming, then qos.

Thanks for the quick reply. It is already set to 512. Darn, I was hoping this would solve my proble.
Problem is: at least once a day, my "phone" light goes out, and I have no internet connectivity. The light on my cable modem shows I have connection. If I reboot modem , everything is happy again, until it goes out 12-24 hours later. I have replaced the modem and have the exact problem. Could the router be the problem. Should I sit on hold w/ Vontage to send me a new one?

HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

I have these links but I haven't checked them in a bit. they all refer to phantom router reboots. out of curiosity, why do you call it "vontage" and not "vonage"? I see this occasionally and just wonder where people get it from.

I belive the setting should be set to 256. I think by default it is set to Auto?

I disabled mine all together and my phone service is still working fine with faster internet connectivity. This came to be after talking to a customer service rep.

mine is set to 256. i know i didn't change it, because i'm still not sure what it all means. in any case, that setting works great for me. all my calls are crystal clear.

firmware 1.27.01 takes away the auto setting and seems to be set to enabled, 256kbps by default.

yep auto setting is gone. Mine was not set to 512 before the update, it was at 256. After it... it was at 512. If I even change it ...it will re boot whenever it wants. Im over a week now not one and this was one with problems and I had hope of a fix. How about testing out that 256....send a bunch of jpg.s to ur own e-mail and talk on the tele. See how that works cause it don't. When other pc is surfin along with this one now...im all good no matter what.
