I am in Barrie and have a 416 Vonage number. I can wait for 705 to be offered as I call LD more then local. Plus with the basic plan of 500 mins LD included I only used about half las tmonth so going from bell @ $100/ month avg to $20 is a good thing! Some local people I talk to don't like the LD charge to much but hey IM me instead then.
Or, the local folks using Bell can call you using Yak for five cents to say "hey, call me back".

So whatever happened to Voip in 705 area code anyway? It seems to exist in the south [Barrie] and in Huntsville and areas north, but there is a big hole around the Muskoka lakes where the millionaires want to bring their local phones on holiday. I wish I was in that bracket, but here I am waiting anyway. Anyone know when the rich guys and myself might get the service? Rob.

We live in the Midland area (about 30 minutes north of Barrie), and have a Barrie 705 number. Barrie is a local call to our area, so it's practically a local number that we have.
I've noticed that no one has posted in this section for a while, so let it be known that 705 now exists on the Vonage network!
