Anyone using multiple Vonage with TalkSwitch and figured out how to consistently get an outside line (no dial tone when dialing 9 or 81)? Do we need to make an adjustment in the TalkSwitch or with Vonage?

Have been using Vonage residential since summer of 2003 in Washington, DC area. Very happy with call quality (after first 3 months).

Now switching over biz lines to use with TalkSwitch. Outgoing calls on TalkSwitch work fine with Verizon POTS but rarely with Vonage. Any ideas?

I know some members have this setup. I suggest you "bump" this thread on Monday morning.

We've now adjusted some of the advanced troubleshooting settings, and the ringbacks stopped. These new settings also appear to have affected the Vonage access, although if the outside line the TalkSwitch picks up is dead, the TalkSwitch hangs on that dead line.

No solution from TalkSwitch or Vonage yet.

Anyone had success consistently using Vonage lines on a TalkSwitch for outgoing calls?

What ATA are you using?
Please check the support section of the TalkSwitch site for the latest TalkSwitch software and firmware download. There should be no TalkSwitch related problems with this load. http://www.talkswitch.com

We're using the Linksys RT31P2-VD on all Vonage lines. The TalkSwitch firmware released 2/28/05 will be installed next week on TalkSwitch 48 CVA.

Still no problems with the Verizon lines or the BroadVoice line.

Will update here after new fimrware installed.

Meanwhile, is anyone successfully using multiple Vonage (or BroadVoice) lines with a TalkSwitch 48 CVA?

Thanks

After installing the Talkswitch Feb/March 2005 firmware upgrade and the reseller adjusting some of the advanced settings, Vonage lines still will not consistently work with the Talkswitch. We're going to cancel the Vonage lines and instead go with Verizon Freedom lines and one Broadvoice line, which have consistently worked with the Talkswitch.

Still very happy with Vonage for residential service.

Sorry to hear you have to cancel the Vonage service. We believe it is a problem specific to either your adapter or the Linksys ATA not providing disconnect clear on the FXS ports. We are going to investigate further. This is the only device to date that does not interact properly with TalkSwitch. Many Vonage customers with Motorola ATAs are quite happy (including ourselves Very Happy ).

Cheers,
Eric

It probably relates to the CPC duration setting in the Linksys RT31P2 which was previously discussed. I connect Vonage to my PBX and had similar issues. Following the forum user's advice, I called Tech Support and got them to set the calling party control (CPC) duration to 0.5 (500 milliseconds) and now my PBX drops correctly when the caller hangs up.

There are also other issues around the output voltage (loop voltage and ringing Hertz) which have been discussed. The main issue is getting someone at Vonage CS who is receptive to work with you on the issue. If you mention "PBX" in your conversation, you'll be frozen out so I used the "Calls won't drop off of my hold button" analogy.

The quick answer to this we have a whole lot of customers using Talkswitch with Vonage. We have not experienced the trouble you had. Some of our customers use Vonage in their in the field service oriented business. So, auto attendant takes call, and, sends them the guy the caller wants in the field (almost always in the field, but not always) using Vonage call transfer feature, which as you know disconnects the call. This provides the customer a way to reach guys in the field without giving out lots of numbers, amongst other things. And, since transfer disconnects, you don't need a bunch of lines. Very nice feature of Vonage.
