Hi i got the new RT31p2 router and have configured the same, I am unable to hear the ring tone.

I am just trying since morningto get the same working.but so far I am not able to get success. can you please let me know what needs to be done. If any one has experienced the same.

your phone doesn't ring or you can't get a dial tone?
are your phone led's lit? how is your network set up?

I have the T1 connection in the apartment, so i have connected the cablemodem to the apartment cable jack.

the output from cable modem is fed to the RT31P2 router.I have my laptop connected to the router and the phone is connected to the phone 1 port on the router.

I have checked the router page at http://192.168.15.1/Voice_Setup.htm

and its showing a message like Please contact your service provider for further information.

in the status tab at the http://192.168.15.1/Voice_Info.htm
it shows line one is active and online.

this is the current setup.

I think that all sounds right. Make sure the phone is in the right port and I'd test your phone on your POTS line also.

hi tommy, I have answerd reebok in PM and forgot to place the message here.

Phone line doesn't have any dialtone.neither incoming calls are coming.

So I am not sure whats happening.

Yes, I am having the exact same issue. Plugged everything in and the voice section does say phone is online with my phone number so I know it is connecting to Vonage. .. but there is absolutely no dial tone most of the time. I was actually able to place a complete call ONE time with the exact same setup and it was clear .... BUT as soon as I hung up no more dial tone.

Once again make sure your phone is plugged into Port 1 in the adapter. The ports in the back of the unit are the opposite of the lights on the front. I know because I made this mistake myself. The phone ports are numbered on the back.

Had nothing to do with which port the phone was connected to ... it WAS into port 1. The problem was due to 2 updates that failed to take due to latency issues. Tech support was able to get into there and force the updates to go through and it worked perfectly.

I love the attitude that some people who think they are king of the world take ... and that is "It MUST be that because it worked for me!! So you must be wrong and didnt do what I said ... nothing else can go wrong that I do not know about." ... it is just a pathetic attitude. Anyway ... that is just MY 2 cents worth.
