I've noticed more and more calls are coming through as "unknown" and "unknown number" even though everything came through fine with my landline phone. Any idea why this is happening and is there some way to "fix" it? Thank you.

what device do you have? most of these caller id issues are fixed with a reboot of the router. but some motorola's have a bad power supply that can cause this. |

My Motorola did this a couple of times. Rebooting it corrected the problem both times. I have not had this problem happen in a very long while.
I see a lot of bad reviews on the LinkSys router. I am just happy that I have the Motorola. I have had very little problems with it, and the sound quality could not be any better! |

Hmmmm...interesting. I have the Linksys PAP2. Is anyone else out there using a Linksys having these issues? I guess I will have to make the dreaded Vonage support call. |

Also...where are you getting these Motorola adapters at? A check of Bestbuy and Circtuit City (online) brought back nothing. |

Last year the Motorola ATAs were being distributed by Vonage. I received mine in the mail from Vonage.
I could be wrong, but I do not believe that they offer them anymore for whatever reason. |

Just got off the phone with tech support at Vonage and I actually only had about a 20 minute hold (online poker makes the wait much better). Anyway, they sent an update to the PAP2 and the caller id appears to be working fine now. The tech, Will, was a very knowledgable and made about four calls to my number to verify everything. We discussed a number of things and he stated that it is known that the Linksys PAP2s have issues with hiss/background noise and it is being addressed with Linksys. Anyway, things are working great once again! Robert |

Thanks for relaying the Vonage update Robert. It is nice to know that they are addressing this issue with LinkSys (Cisco). |

to follow up on my own post. I currently have auto-forwarding setup to send all calls to my old Verizon number to my new Vonage number. Would this make a difference for the caller id? |
