I just wanted to post saying that I tested my alarm system with Vonage and everything works fine. My alarm company is ADS/First Alert. The central station number is listed in my placed calls and when I called the central station, they had the activity on their screen, knew exactly what sensor I tripped. Very cool.
Now off to test 911, then hopefully cancelling SBC.

Just a suggestion: with Brinks there are also software updates. My system has been working perfectly (test signals, sensor trips with the correct zone transmitting to Brinks, etc) until now: I am having trouble receiving an update to mine. I am confident it will all be resolved with a few adjustments but, just wanted to give you a heads up.
Perhaps, they could send some sort of data transmission (other than the standard) or request something from your panel just to ensure all functions operate correctly? Dunno . . . perhaps it is different with ADS/First Alert. Again, just a heads up.
Good luck to you! Hopefully in the future all such systems (alarm, Tivo, etc.) will be Voip friendly out of the box.
