Well it has been 30 days so far and no decent service, I can call out for at least 15-18 minutes but no incoming calls. only a few came in so far but within the 15 minutes people complain about loud screaching sounds and random tones then disconnect.
After reading this:

I am thinking to myself that maybe you should start a new thread and detail your problems, lets see if we can't get you some help.

Post subject: dconner - YES, help would be GREAT!
Hey, please count me in on receiving any real assistance with even getting a new account up and working - I too have lots of time to spare due to still having no support nor nary a clue as to how to actually get it running for the first time (again, my bet is that their billing system will work just fine, service or not). Hey, I am just a "newbie" as well - with three engineering degrees (microwave electronics - no big deal), and I can't figure out what's wrong. I am also still very open to any other similar service that can actually do the job as advertised - know of any?

I see you have some conversation going here:
http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic3504.html
with reebok, who is very helpful. Stick with it. Others will chime in also. We have several
Vonage
CS Reps on the board.
As a side note, please do not take this the wrong way because I understand that you are frustrated, but picking a "negative" username and posting with a somewhat negative title, does not send an invitation to our senior members to help you.
I say this with the most sincerity,

Post subject: Thanks, but
Point well taken, and thanks - however, several days later I am no closer to receiving the service as advertised (an important point - ever so fortunately, I married an attorney), and no one except for other attempting users in the same boat appear to be concerned about this - most certainly
Vonage
is not. All I want is what was promised, as paid cash money American for. Thanks again.

Gee this is the most humorous thread I have read in a while. If ya really need tech support just keep redialing till ya get the right recording. They have two...one is useless. Maybe
Vonage
could outsource to those who know somethin here ....LOL. YA its madness and it only gets better.

Post subject: Finally got the support I needed
After waiting on hold from 10:30pm to 2:30am I got connected with sombody who realy knew her stuff. The Tech's name was Latoya White. She took the time to systematically lok into the problem, looked at the settings on the router, asked what type of phones I used and had me work with her to resolve the issue. from what I learned by default the router settings are set to use 900 mhz phones. after learning that I use the 2.4ghz phones she changed settings on the router, changed router so I use line 2 instead of line 1 and now for the first time since I signed up with
Vonage
I went 24 hrs without a problem.
I was told reasons for the long wait is the people are calling after setting up
Vonage
for the first time are calling to see if it is working properly and also install issues.
If
Vonage
really wants to take off I feel that they should employ people in every major metropolis to take calls and also do installs. This should cut back on the wait time and improve service. My knowledge is that they aer hiring 60 people a week at the NJ office but no where else. At that rate all of NJ will be employed by
Vonage
in no time at all.

If
Vonage
opens offices all over the country then they have to pay to keep the building open and in a addition they have to pay the electric and other bills. I dont think it is cost effective.
If i can help like me know by PM with some contact info so I can look up you account/device and expedite your situation.

I understand the frustration and I am doing everything I can to possibly help. (this is like the tenth time i have said this).
I was not asked by the company to help and thus if people want to **** or moan about the service then i dont see myself attempting much assistance for them.
Also, if you are network engineer or some self righteous and you are interested in ridiculing me or trying to tell the world how great you are? Don't PM me. Because if you were that great a hacker you would not be here having to pat yourself on the back or tell the world how great you are.
I think you can ask our board admin about my track record or scan for posts from people who asked me for help and that I have done my best.
I cant claim to be god or 100% accurate but I will to be of my ability try to get the ball moving and in certain situations when justified, credit an account. That might not be much but from what i see, but its something.
Also, I work Tuesday through Saturday and if you PM me and Sunday I have no way to help.
Look forward to talking with you.
