If that is really your upload speed, that could be a problem. I believe you need at least 90kbs upload to make
Vonage
work.
Other than that I am unable to offer any insight, sorry.

your pap2 can not connect to
Vonage
. if it did you would not be able to access the web interface, because it's disabled with a firmware update (apparently) when it does connect. the tftp test we had you do confirms that you can connect to vonage's tftp server (where the firmware update comes from) so your problem either lies in the pap2 itself (not likely), the position of the pap2 in the network (possible) or
Vonage
activating the wrong mac address or not activating the mac address at all (more likely).
what happens when you connect the pap2 directly to the modem?
and like everyone else said, the connection sukcs (misspelled due to automatic removal of "****" <--see?), and it may also be high latency besides the slow speeds.

Heidi,
Sorry I did not follow up with you sooner after you ran the tests.
As reebok and others said, your speed test suggests a very slow connection that may make the system unusable, but that is not likely the reason that you cannot get the phone light to come on.
The issue is almost certainly that
Vonage
has not activated a MAC address for your PAP2 or has activated one other than the one you are using. My guess is that the MAC of the original adapter is still on your account and that the MAC of the second adapter never replaced it.
Vonage
will not connect to a device with a MAC that it does not have active on your account and it only allows one active MAC per phone line.
The best thing I can suggest now is that you try to connect the first PAP2 to your system again (assuming you stil have it and did not return it already) -- because that probably has a MAC address that
Vonage
recognizes. Then reboot everything, waiting five minutes between each device. Then watch the phone light on your adapter and see if it comes on after a few minutes. If that does not happen, then I'm afraid you're going to have to talk to
Vonage
directly.
If any
Vonage
reps are watching here, perhaps it's time to jump in and offer help.

heidi,
sounds like you're in the valley....i was down there near mcallen a month ago setting up my mother's ripwave modem.
one general note...what color is the signal light on the modem, green, orange, red? if red or orange, you're having signal strength issues in addition to your other problem. if you can, keep the modem near an external window. even better if the window faces one of the towers. a diagram of the tower location is one the rioplex website.
i agree that if your primary line is showing offline, it's probably because
Vonage
doesn't recognize the mac address of your adapter.

does anybody know how i can get the default password for the PAP2 adapter, so I can access the admin menu for the adapter? i was able to log on to the adapter's main menu, but once there I tried the default password - "admin", but it doesn't work. does
Vonage
have the password.

Post subject: ripwave modem and vonage
it's doubtful you'll get any sort of service from any
Voip
and a ripwave.
The LOS/NLOS wireless modems are inherently slow. They have built-in latency--this means DELAY. It's not only bandwidth, but it's the RESPONSE time. Any network overhead, or behind the scenes stuff, that will delay your reponse and the PAP2 won't register. If you get it to register you'll most likely never get a dial tone. If you do, don't expect it to last long.
As it stands now, wireless broadband isn't for amything other than those of us that need some info from the web as we travel and need to frequently communicate via email or other latency-proofed methods such as 15 FPS video, chat software, VPN transmissions to another network that can re-assemble it's packets without damage caused by delay etc.
