I bought a wireless linksys router after receiving my router from Vonage. Is it possible to use both of course not at the same time? The scenario would be taking the wired router with me when I travel. Thanks in advance |

Sure, you can use both. Just set your wireless in line behind your adapter. |

Here's a suggestion from the Linksys site. I have my adaptor behind my wireless router and it works for me:

Thanks for the quick reply but I need to claify. I want to use both routers at different locations. Keep my wireless one at my house and when I travel I would take the wired router with me an plug it up to the hotel broadband connection. Will Vonage authenicate the second router if I already have the one at my house still plugged in? Thanks |

you didn't specify, but it sounds like you bought a linksys/vonage WRT54GP2. linksys makes more than one wireless router so that would be a good tidbit to include. 2 devices can not be set up with the same number. |

Reebok, does the motorola router or a different linksys router work in this configuration? |

you can not have the same phone number assigned to two different routers. |

Ok. Thanks. I guess thats why I didn't give specifics on the model of the routers. I was more of a general question.. |

well I don't know about the fact this cannot be done. This scenerio although is not practice of Vonage. One adapter thats it so. But now...lol
I shelved my RT31P2 and still have my moto from when I bought my first WRT54GP2 ...returned to BB for another ....returned to Vonage for the shelved RT31P2. Reason I was not using it was because of the reboot issues. Reason the moto was kept was not to muck up my acct in the beginning for buying a retail product after the fact. SO...
Upon calling Vonage to reactivate the RT31P2 ...I did all my stuff on my end and they didnt do anything yet and my phone port was connected. I am tempted to hook the Moto up to the router to see if the light comes on steady actually...lol. They were to make sure the Moto was taken off by my request and assurance I guess....we know how tech support is fer now...lol. Somehow I feel both are workin on my one number. Should I see if it connects ? |

ok it connects and light stays solid on the Moto...although no number shows up in interface and there is no dial tone but line is functional meaning live. You can dial etc and hear touchtones and line noise is present. over out... |
