Hello,

My LOA was received and processed by Vonage on Jan 26. There hasn't been any progress on the LNP since. I realize that my 20 business days are just up. I don't want to be stuck paying two phone bills for months on end. I read that for every day after your 20 days, you can receive a credit on your Vonage bill. Is this true? I have also read may bad stories in this forum. Kind of nervous now. I was also wondering if anyone else has been successful in having their number ported over from SBC ( I am in MI)?

Thanks in Advance

I am also having my number transferred from SBC in Illinois. I sent my papers in on January 28, 2005 and had not heard a word from anyone.

I called Vonage yesterday and asked about the status and they told me that there had been a problem and my number should have transferred on February 10, 2005. The Customer Service person would not tell me what the problem was-or he didn't know what the problem was. I was told that I will have an answer in 48 hours and I will be calling them back again at that time.

If I were you I would call them and ask about the status. I have the best luck getting through early in the morning before I leave for work. 866-243-4357 is Customer Service, the LNP Transfer number is 866-496-6359.

I live in brighton, MI and I'm porting my number over from SBC to Vonage. I started the process on Feb 4, so I have a few more days yet.

But I'm very curious how long it has taken other SBC customers to get their number ported over to Vonage.

I have been doing some more reading and I figure I will give it to the end of Feb. I tried calling the LNP help number, but hung up after being on hold for 30 min. I was at work and did not have the time. I really enjoy the service and have had no problems since connecting. I really do hope this LNP turns out OK!

My request went in on Jan 16th for LNP from SBC to Vonage in CT. So far, my transfer date of Feb 15th has come and gone. Calls to Vonage state that they have no new transfer date. Have fun!

I sent my LOA in on January 7 and it will finally be transferred on February 24. The first time they tried there was a paperwork error which was corrected. All I can say is take heart and it will happen. Meanwhile, I forwarded my SBC line to my Vonage virtual number and it has been working great.

Hello,

My 20 business days have come and gone and still no change! I will try emailing again (sent email last Sunday and received a help desk number). I will also make time to call customer support and see if I can get some credit applied to my account so I don't have to pay for both Voip and Local service. I am willing to go through this in order to save $40+ dollars a month on phone service. Call quality has continued to be excellent with no problems.

I have SBC in LA, CA. LNP took less than two weeks. Flawless. If your having a problem, definitely keep on them...both SBC and Vonage. Good Luck

I have received my email from the LNP department stating that my LNP request was approved by SBC and that my LNP transfer is scheduled for Monday, Feb 28, 2005.

February 4, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
February 8, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
February 8, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
February 25, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer

Appears my is going to be completed before the 20 business days. Lol
