Received email today stating...
The carrier has issued a tentative transfer date for 3/8/2005. Please keep in mind that this date is subject to change and is not necessarily the date your transfer will take place. We will send you a notification when the date is finalized by the carrier.
Sincerely,
LNP Department 866-496-6359
We will see if it actually takes place on the stated date. At least I have something to go on now! |

Good Afternoon,
Today has come and gone and still no LNP. I started sending out my usual round of emails when I got an interesting reply..
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.
jeffery.citron@vonage.com
Maybe someone has blocked their email address?? Anyone else get this message? All the other emails went through OK! |

But I'm very curious how long it has taken other SBC customers to get their number ported over to Vonage. |
I live in Hartland Michigan and ported my longtime local 810-632 number in January and got things switched within the 20 days. I did have Sprint local service over the SBC system though, so the change went thru Sprint. I cannot go back to Sprint service because they lost the ability to provide local service because of their Nextel merger. Hartland seems to have lousey local SBC hardware. We get echoing when we call within the 810-632 exchange, but not when we call or are being called outside of the 810-632 exchange. As I understand it the Voip Gateway in and out of my local exchange is the culpert. |

Hi Just got off the phone with LNP Customer Service (was on hold for only 15 min). He was not sure why SBC did not honor the porting process yesterday. He is moving my work ticket to a different department. I also got another month of credit! (I would rather have my LNP finished though) |

I faxed my LOA and bill the first time on 2/4/05.
When there was no change to the LOA status update website by 2/15/05, I called the LNP department, they had me fax it directly to them.
I waited until 3/1/05 to see a change, and when I didn't, I called again, and they had me fax the information again (with a new bill this time, since the first one was now over 30 days old).
On March 7th, I still hadn't seen a change on the LOA status website, so I called again, and they asked me to fax it directly to them again. I did that, and the guy said he retrieved the info from the fax machine and hand-delivered it to the person who would process the request.
It's been 48 hours, and I didn't see a change, so I called the LNP department again. The CSR said he did see the notation that the previous CSR hand-delivered my request, but they still had no indication that I had ever sent in my LOA. (I have no idea how these two statements could be true at the same time but I asked, and he repeated it again). So he had me fax it again, and said he hand delivered it again. He also had me fax it to the toll-free number (866 281 3308), but said he wouldn't be able to confirm receipt for 5 hours.
At this rate I expect to spend another hour on the phone with the LNP folks on Friday. At this point I'm waiting for over a month just to start the 20 day countdown. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the required paperwork to Vonage reliably? |

No new news from Vonage, however I did set up a "login" so I could check my service on www.sbc.com. Logged in and could see billing info, etc... I noticed that a "service" was started yesterday (same day that I called Vonage). The service is due to be completed by the 15th. I'm thinking that it is my LNP request. Funny thing is that I have no updates what so ever from Vonage. |

Just wanted to say that my number was ported over today! It must of happened sometime around 4pm. My sbc line still has dial tone. I suppose that it will die sometime soon. Got a call from "Vonage Holdings" at 4:17pm. Have been testing and sounds good. I feel very lucky. I will have to check out the news article about another company helping with the LNP process. |

I live in Metro Detroit (waterford/west bloomfield TWP border) submitted my information on the below date and SBC line when down on Sat March 26 in about 18 days was all ported over. Just got my SBC bill for this month I need to tell them that I am no longer with them. On Vonage website it did not say my number was ported over, I just received and email.
Service is great and cost less, love it so far. I just leave it on best quality. It did not sound so good when I lowered it with the bandwitdh saver.
