not sure what netgear your using, but if the GUI is anything like the linksys, its pretty easy.

on tghe linksys router, the mainpage has a drop down box where you can click "Static IP"

look for this in the netgear section and make your IP address
"192.168.15.102" (assuming your pc's are .100, .101)
subnet = 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.15.1
dns = 192.168.15.1

this will enable static routes and SHOULD resolve any conflicts you have

as for the PCs losing their dynamic addresses, setting them static should resolve the issue

ewooyong - I just thought I would let you know that I am having the exact same problem. Everything works fine on the Linksys RT31P12 DHCP server for a couple of weeks and then it just stops giving out IP addresses. After I reset the router by manually unplugging it and plugging it back in it works perfectly again - for a couple more weeks.

All the devices on my network are using static IPs except for clients and the Linksys router is the only active DHCP server. I don't think this is a network configuration issue based on the symptoms I am having. I also ran an Ethereal trace just to verify I wasn't getting competing DHCP packets somehow - although the symptoms don't point to that anyway.

My network is setup like this: A DSL modem attached to the WAN port on the Linksys which is connected to a Gb DLink switch. That switch is connected to a Media Center PC, a Media Center extender, a NAS server, and another Gb DLink switch. The second switch is connected to a DLink wireless router (with DHCP disabled), and my home PC. I have a second PC and a laptop that attach through the wireless router.

This seems like it has to be a firmware bug of some type.

I just got the RT today. I have an existing Netgear based network. I use several wireless Netgear mp101 digital music players that work with my Netgear 614 wireless router almost perfectly.

I still chose the RT over the standalone because QoS is not available on the Netgear side. I also did not want to use the RT's DHCP because the Netgear router can assign IP's based on mac address.

I really did not want to mess up my existing network moving from DSL/Telco to Cable/VOIP so this worked for me:

I connected the SB5100 to the WAN port of the RT. I then hooked port 1 of the RT to the WAN port on the Netgear.

The RT has DHCP on but set to only one avail IP to be assigned, which will always be 192.168.15.100. I set it to 192.168.15.1 with the subnet of 255.255.255.128 (not 255.255.255.0). DMZ is set for 192.168.15.100 which will always be fed to the Netgear router. QoS set for Voip and HTTP server priority.

The Netgear is also set for DHCP on with its usual sticky ips. It is set to 192.168.1.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. My settings for port fowarding, spi filtering, blocked sites, ect all remains the same.

So far no problems whatsoever!

mine is a similar setup, i wanted the RT31P2 first, though DHCP is assigned by static DHCP in my WRT54GS using custom firmware.

check this link out fr more info.

http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic5306.html

basicaly

RT31P2 is 192.168.15.1
WRT54GS 192.168.15.2

Subnet 255.255.255.0

Gateway set in WRT54GS to 192.168.15.1

DNS server settings set in WRT54GS

QoS in Both though WRT54G is set for LAN/WIreless QoS for limit wireless usuage.

QoS Voice set to 256 on a ntl 3Mbs/300Kbs service.

All works fine here
