I have no Idea how many other people will run into this but. I just wanted to put it out here just in case.
My Wife is a realtor and uses a Supra Displaykey for lock boxes. After we switched to Vonage the displaykey couldn't dial out when inserted into the cradle and get it's daily access code update.
She tried getting help from the local board of realtors which supplies the keypads, they had no clue.
My wife being both smart and beautiful finally figured it out. In the setup options of the keypad iteself she changed the 1-800 number the keypad tries to dial to the local access number for updates.
It's been working fine for a week. |

Thanks. I have a realtor friend who is considering Vonage. I'll point them to this post. |

Add "*99," before dialing the number. For best results I recommend adding the 1+area code even if you are using a local number. By adding the extra digits the connection will be made slightly faster.
If it still isn't working call Vonage and ask them to adjust your line settings for a modem/fax.
| Quote: | | You may include the following special characters in an eSYNC phone number: pound (#), asterisk (*), or comma (,). To enter one of these characters, press the up arrow and scroll through the available special characters. The comma (,) pauses for two seconds during the dialing. The pound (#) is often used with a voice messaging service. Check with your telephone service provider to determine if you need to include any special characters in the eSYNC phone number. |
