Softphone

Is there anyway to make both the phone connected to the adapter in the house and the software on my laptop ring at the same time (Its the same number) I'm curious how to arrange this or whats the easiest solution to only make it only ring on my laptop at times be...This would be really helpful if they would both ring so i don't miss calls outside of my home/business. Thanks in advance for any help.

This seems strange. Vonage will not issue the same number for a softphone and an adapter phone. Did I misunderstand what you said?

If you have a softphone with one number and an adapter phone with another, each can be set to SimulRing with the other, if that is what you meant. But the numbers must be different .

I was meaning is it possible to use my Vonage home number from my laptop via the softphone...thus askings if its possible to ring in multiple locations...ie laptop with softphone installed in backyard and regular phone indoors...or to use softphone do you have to have a complete different phone number than your original Vonage number.

The softphone number is completely different from your main Vonage number and cannot be the same. In fact, some people have a softphone with a different area code from their main Vonage line.

Even though you have to have separate numbers, you can have each one ring on both its own line and the other line -- and you can answer either one from either place.

The outgoing caller ID, however, will be the number of either the softphone or the main Vonage line.

And the softphone is limited to 500 outgoing minutes even if you have unlimited minutes on your main Vonage line. Incoming minutes and calls to other Vonage users do not count against the 500 outgoing minutes on the softphone.
